"April 27, 1978 - Hoke Spring Flood Damage. Heavy rains caused the drains to overflow. This caused water to run down the street and into Hoke Hall through the basement doors." Boxes, pallets and a hand truck sit in a couple of inches of water covering the floor of the kitchen storeroom in Hoke Hall.
