For the nine or ten days Hill's unit waited at Milne Bay, they were assigned to Aihoma, a swampy area flooded by afternoon rains. Here, standing in jungle mud, they are laying the log base for a dry walkway between their quarters and kitchen. Left to right: M/Sgt Fred Argo, 1st Sgt John Rixham, Maj Fred Harris, Cpl Dick Baxter.
