While sweat rash plagued Hill at Finnschhafen, he still enjoyed eating tropical fruit -- as seen here in this photo he sent to Martha. Throughout the New Guinea conflict, soldiers regularly bartered or bought local foods from Papuan tribesmen, who called this particular fruit 'paw paw."
