Description
"Big Emby Lake - near (1/2 hr hike) our camp at Dobodura. We fished there. Had a raft and later - re-cycled inflated life rafts from aircraft" From "Darkroom Soldier": "Big Embi Lake. After a fishing trip here, Hill wrote Martha, 'Around sunup, I have not yet in New Guinea seen anything more beautiful than Embi Lake, its island covered right down to the water with sago palms, lilies and swamp grass in the water at the edges. We paddled around for a couple of hours, then fished until 11:30. Excellent fishing. Caught eight big ones and a couple dozen medium sized." ("Darkroom Soldier" caption authored by George Venn)
