"Most Valuable Player - For the second year, Gordon Meyers, senior from Joseph, Oregon, has been named the Most Valuable Player of the Mountie team. Gordon has taken active part in the Eastern Oregon College's events in the four years that he has been here. Gordon also received Most Valuable Player in high school. Pictured at the left is Head Football Coach, Archie Dunsmoor, presenting the Most Valuable Player award to Gordon." The plaque reads, "The Mastermind Trophy For Outstanding Football Player." This is an informal portrait of two Eastern Oregon football players. #85 - Dennis Bagnall from Pendleton, Oregon. He played the end position and was a letterman in both football and baseball. #12 - Dick Branaugh was from Mosier, Oregon, and he played in the quarterback position. He was named Most Valuable Player in Football during the 1960-61 searson. Both young men are wearing their uniform jersies. [Photos appear in the 1961 Mountaineer yearbook, pg. 82 & 83.]
