"Fourth of July Celebration - La Grande, Oregon. A group of people pose in front of Ralston Furniture and Undertakers. The entrance for Williams Bros. Law Offices, which were on the second floor, is to the right." Identified in photograph: "1. Fan McWhirter, 2. Hat Kinsey, 3. Johnny Moran, 4. Mabel Williams, 5. Libby Kinsey, 6.-13. unidentified 14. Dr. R.J. Chipman, 15. Miss Anson, 16. Ira F. Powers, 17. Frederick L. Meyers, 18. Al V. Andrews." Mrs. Libby Kinsey is holding up a sign which reads: "Call and See Us. Powers and Co. Furniture and Carpets." [Ben Weathers, who owned a print of the same photograph, noted the following information: "The picture was taken after 1890 and before 1896. This building was on the east side of Depot Street just south of Adams Avenue, and the M.J. Berry store (later Newlin Drugs) was on the corner of Depot and Adams, just to the right of picture. The Williams Law Office was in the building many years."]
