Comedian Bob Hope and his troupe of six performers -- Patty Thomas, Francis Langford (left), Jerry Colona, and three others -- flew into Biak on August 20 aboard a C-54 transport plane. A famous touring company of musicians and actors, Hope and his troupe put on morale-boosting shows for American military throughout World War II. On August 25, they performed for troops on Biak."
